The immediate measure was to reduce swelling. This was not with medicines but other more rapid and effective anti-oedema measures under direct supervision. Within days the swelling melted away.
The stiff joints were mobilized with dynamic splints.
For the tendons to glide, the overlying skin has to be soft and mobile. Skin grafted skin is inappropriate for tendon function. Hence skin grafted skin was replaced with a flap.
Once flap is in place, the next step is to carry out tendon transfer for finger extension.
